• Self Motivation: Daily staffing of these areas is required when not out diving. You would need to be available for customer enquiries during set hours. (9am-6pm)
• Good Sales Equipment knowledge. In both locations, we offer a small retail area and also Diving equipment catalogs for next day deliveries.

Min Required Dive level Rescue

A fantastic opportunity to work the New Zealand summer season in a reputable dive charter resort operation. We are looking for a Full time Divemaster to join our TEAM from the last week of November 2010 through to the end of February 2011.

Your role will be leading dives at some of NZ’s best sites, teaching DSD students (training provided), assisting with dive courses and attending to customers in our Dive and Snorkel centre.

To suit this role you will:

* Have a minimum of 100 dives in temperate water conditions (15-22 C degrees)
* Have 10 Deep dives (over 25 m), 10 Navigation dives, 4 Search and Recovery dives and 4 Night dives
* Have a minimum 20 dives leading certified divers
* Have completed or refreshed EFR Primary and Secondary Care within the last 24 months
* Have completed a PADI Rescue course or sat a Rescue refresher within the last 24 months
* Have experience leading dives from a dive charter boat and not suffer from seasickness
*   Have a minimum 100 hours experience on a commercial dive charter boat
* Have excellent natural/compass navigation skills
* Be willing to teach Confined Open Water DSD courses (training and certification provided)
* Be a practical person (confident with driving a small truck and knot tying)
* Have excellent people management skills
* Be flexible, honest, hard working, friendly and a TEAM player
* Be comfortable working in a small team and residing in a stunning but quiet town
* You will need to be a NZ citizen, resident or qualify for a NZ Working Visa

For the months July, August, September we need a career seeker willing to work in our watersports center, “doing it all”.

We prefer a rescue diver, since we prefer training our own Staff up to our own standards, that well exceed PADI minimum requirements.

In these three months, you will be trained up to PADI Divemaster, SI Snuba Guide, Boat Handler, EFR Instructor and if you want to…. plenty more things to choose from and learn.

Your pay is going to be fair, but you will not get rich. We will find you accomodation and you will make enough to pay rent, food and transportation to and from work. We consider the training you receive to be a form of additional payment. Also, you will enjoy sales commissions.

In October, when the high season starts and you have worked well, you can start working as a staff member on our team and of course then make more salary, commission and tips.

We prefer a woman/girl

- Between 21-30yrs

- Sociable and not too shy (briefings, pool demos)

- Rescue and EFR certified (We want EFR, not an equivalent!)

- Willing to commit for the whole season (till april)

- Team player, good in networking.

- Sales experience

- Dutch Nationality preferred. Fluent in Dutch and English

- French, German and Spanish would be great additional languages
