Hi,
We are a busy medium-sized dive center on the beautiful holiday island of Santorini, Greece and are seeking two Divemaster trainees for the high season July to September 2010.
We provide the course for free in return for six weeks helping with all aspects of runing the dive center, so you will gain excellent experience as well as the first entry on your diving CV. The work is varied: you will be guiding certified divers (after qualification) and snorkel tours, assisting with discover scuba programs and courses as well as helping out on our speedboats (6m RIB, 7m RIM and 9m RIB), carrying/filling tanks, washing gear, manning the shop and everything else that we all take part in. We can be very busy during this period so expect there to be a lot of hard work, long days and physical activity. However, we have a lot of fun and the town is perfect for having a social life and enjoying the Greek scene. We do not have so many fish in Greece but our scenery is amazing: volcanic lava caves, walls to 300m and an active volcano inside one of the world’s most beautiful calderas. We do have a lot of smaller life on the rocks, such as many octopus and nudibranch, and almost always 30m visibility. You will also be learning from and working with one of the most qualified and experienced multinational teams in the area.
Key things that we are looking for are:
*Fluent in English, plus able to speak a second/third language (preferably Italian, Spanish, German and/or French)
*Have a driving licence and be comfortable driving a large Landrover
*Some experience driving speedboats is also useful
*Be a rescue diver with at least 30 dives. We may train you for rescue diver also if you meet all our other requirements.
*Be available from mid August to 30th September.
Some costs are involved: We can arrange basic accommodation for you for around 200 euros, books cost about 200 and there is an application fee to PADI of about 80.
Directly following the Divemaster program we will be running an Instructor course, which we discount for our trainees, so it will be possible to continue onto this also if you wish. Preference will be given to those who have the drive and ambition to continue with this option.
