We are currently recruiting for the European summer season and are looking for experienced DMs or higher who like the fun and rewards that come from working exclusively on the sales side of the business.

Working in a team of two you will have dedicated resorts to visit daily, some with up to 2000 guests. You will be responsible for introducing diving to those who have never tried and booking courses or DSD experiences for them and for arranging dive trips for qualified divers.

With multiple locations and different product offerings there are many ways of earning extremely generous commission.

We require commitment from late April – end September. The ability to sell in more than one European language is a distinct advantage.

GM’s will be working closely with the Corporate office and together will run all operations on the Island. Requirements Person one:
Ability to oversea all guest activities
PADI Instructor – Teach PADI dive courses, including Nitrox
Professional fly fishing and spinning experience essential
Experience as a boat Captain a plus
Mechanical experience is REQUIRED, boat motors with both gas and diesel
Strong problem solving skills
Effective interpersonal skills and effective decisionmaking skills
Ability to supervise all maintenance and mechanical operations
This position is also required to oversee all back of house operations in the yard, mechanical shop, fishing and diving areas.

Fun Summer Job in Alaska

Snorkel Alaska in Ketchikan seeks outgoing individuals to take cruise ship passengers on guided snorkeling excursions in the last frontier. All equipment and paid on the job training are provided with this fun full-time, seasonal position.

As a Snorkeling Tour Guide you will be responsible for giving snorkeling instructions, issuing equipment and assisting guests with donning of their equipment. You will also provide safety briefings and guided marine life tours in addition to caring for our guests in the water. Equipment maintenance and shop preparation are also part of the responsibilities. All tours are team led with 2 to 3 guides in the water depending on the number of guests.

This is a great opportunity to take a break from active teaching or retail sales. You can expect to work 40 hours a week with one or two days off per week depending on the cruise ship schedule. Pay averages $100 per day depending on certification level and experience based on an 8-hour workday. Overtime and tips are in addition to the hourly wage. Transportation to Ketchikan and housing is at your own expense. We do try to assist with finding suitable housing prior to arrival.

Snorkeling in Alaska? It sounds crazy but water temperatures reach 65 degrees in mid-summer. We provide you with two 7mm SCUBAPRO Everflex Steamer wetsuits, hood, boots, gloves and everything else you need to be comfortable in the water. It’s a great tour with some amazing marine life. We have been voted the Shore Excursion of the Year seven out of ten year seasons by Princess Cruises. We also received the Excellence in Tourism Award from the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau in 2009.

To be considered for employment you must have current PADI Divemaster or Instructor ratings and current PADI sponsored liability insurance. You also must be able to commit to the entire season which runs from early May through the end of September 2011. Consideration may be given to one person who could commit to June, July and August. Current CPR and First Aid / EFR certifications are also required.

Preference will be given to those who have previous cold water diving / teaching experience You should have a strong background in customer service but we will consider anyone who can learn quickly, is fun loving and can work hard as part of a team. You will need to be in excellent physical condition as you will be freediving to depths of 30 or more feet repeatedly during the tour. Smokers and couples need not apply.

Ketchikan is a great place to spend the summer. We are the southernmost city in Alaska located on an island in the Tongass National Forest. We have a very mild summertime climate. In your free time you can enjoy some great diving and spearfishing. There are numerous hiking trails and world-class salmon and halibut fishing. We also have trades with other tour operators so you can go on kayak tours, zip-lines, floatplanes and Misty Fjord cruises to name a few. We are a very small company with no corporate b.s. It’s a fun place to work and play.

From April to October 2011 we need someone who loves the diving scene but prefers to work on land.
A multi-tasker who:
- Has good computer knowledge. Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is a MUST. Some experience with Photoshop is a plus. Experience with EVE is a BIG plus!
- Can manage day plans.
- Is representative to welcome new customers.
- Likes to sell PADI programs and snorkel equipment.
- Languages: English + German or Dutch … or all three
You work in a diving center along the main boulevard of the village.
When you’re not disturbed you’re working on the day program of the following days planning in the right instructors for the right courses/ activities. You answer emails of divers planning their next holiday to our diving school. You will also keep the open bills of our customers up to date by making sure their latest activities have been added to their bill.
If you are disturbed this will be by new customers asking info on our activities or by existing customers requesting to be planned in for more diving.
When the instructors and divemasters come back from diving you’ll need to remind them of their administration, request info to maintain the bills and if necessary chance the existing day schedules.
You won’t dive but never will be bored! You’ll stay dry but still be part of the diving team. You’ll work in what is probably the most picturesque village of Crete.
