We need a single OWSI to manage our small dive operation attached to the very basic resort.

The resort is basic, with bures (huts) constructed from local materials, limited electricity, and no hot water. It is more like a Fijian village than a resort.

The successful candidate will be expected to be self sufficient, manage the operation and the staff, liaise with the resort management, market the diving and the resort, be resilient in solving problems with limited back-up and be prepared to live on an island with limited refrigeration and no bar (although you can bring your own alcohol), some distance from civilisation.

The package includes all work related travel in-country (but not flights to Fiji), a small wage (approximately US $150/week), a small food allowance, and a 6 month work visa.

Couples are acceptable, but there is only one wage and one work permit. Partners can come on a tourist visa (extendable up to 6 months) and have free diving.

We are currently looking for 2x OWSI to start immediately.
Languages (fluent in English as well as either of the following): Spanish, German or Swedish

The positions are commission only; 10% booking, 10% guiding and 25% teaching.

I’m looking for instructors only and with the above languages as you earn a commission for bookings and teaching I’m looking for instructors who are excellent at sales, so a previous sales background would be ideal.

We recently been taken over by new management so this is an ideal opportunity to be part of an established shop, but one that has many changes coming in the future, therefore you have the opportunity to be part of these changes and make an input.

Due to visa runs and a sound working environment I’m not looking for couples or joint applications, so couples need not apply.

We are currently looking for a single Male Dive Instructor, English speaking hard working OWSI (or higher-but you must be active, renewed and insured), to join our small team in the Caribbean British Virgin Islands.

We have been in business for over 35 years and require professional, customer orientated, non-smoking team players with a clean appearance AND an STCW-95 certificate. All of these are a MUST! Boat handling and CPR teaching skills a plus.

We are on a relatively quiet island (read: NOT a party island) and the position involves “varied” work where your time will be split between;

Guiding divers and learning to drive M/V Sunchaser, our 40′ dive boat (45%)
Teaching DSD’s (13%) or open water referrals (2%)
Equipment servicing (5%)
Commercial working in the mooring field + cleaning the bottoms of boats (20%)… or doing general maintenance/cleaning or any other job that may need to be done (15%)

NOTE: Please do NOT respond unless you have an STCW-95 certificate. You need this BEFORE we can start the work visa application process (which takes 2 months).

The position starts 15 December 2010 and you will be required to stay until the season ends in mid August 2011. Following successful completion of a season, extended employment may be possible. Full season is from mid October to mid August each year. You must be willing to give at least 90 days notice if you have to leave. The same will be given to you if you are asked to leave.
